13 BOLIVIA Pampas

30th November - 4th December 2006 Bolivian Pampas

A view of the amazon river basin in the area of Rurrenabaque, Beni Department from the plane.

Cruising down the river looking for wildlife. We were able to see capybara, caimans, monkeys, turtles, macaws and toucans as well as the unusual pink river dolphins.

One of the many monkeys that can be seen in the pampas. There are 5 different species, including the cappucino, howler and yellow monkey.

Swimming with the elusive pink dolphins which inhabit the amazon river. These dolphins are very shy so it is not so easy to capture them on camera.

Our luncheon campanion at the Safari hotel where we enjoyed a delicious steak on our last day in Rurrenabaque.
